The Lotek JSATS AMT – Juvenile Salmon Acoustic Telemetry System Acoustic Micro Transmitter – was developed to satisfy the research and regulatory requirements for monitoring juvenile salmon in the Columbia River Basin.
The transmitter’s small size and relatively long operational life permits tracking of sub-yearlings throughout their natural environment while minimizing impact upon them.
The Lotek JSATS AMT acoustic tag is compatible with JSATS receiving systems and utilizes a Binary Phase-Shift Keying (BPSK) coding system that allows for tens of thousands of unique IDs on a single acoustic frequency. Each transmission consists of an ID and check sum delivered in less than one millisecond, thereby minimizing the probability of mis-identification or interference from code collision.
Key features:
Juvenile fish survival studies through hydro-electric projects, juvenile fish behavior in the vicinity of guidance structures, fish behavior in reaction to anthropogenic disturbance.

After 6 months, we have retrieved half of our telemetry @lotek array (+35 moorings anchors 30 kg each😂). No problems so far besides de hard work!💪300 fish HD positioning!🐟🐡The supercomputing center can not wait to touch to the data!😊@fishecology_ & @RArlinghausFish pic.twitter.com/quCuoTsK9E
