    Opportunity:

    Lotek is currently looking for a Quality Specialist capable of working in a team environment within our Operations group. The ideal candidate will drive the development, implementation, and maintenance of quality assurance and quality control systems, ensuring products cost-effectively meet required standards.

    Skills and Qualifications:

    • Quality Engineering degree, technical degree or equivalent.
    • Minimum 2 years experience in a miniaturized electronic/electro-mechanical engineering/manufacturing and packaging industry.
    • Working knowledge of electronics and able to read schematics and mechanical CAD drawings.
    • Excellent knowledge of electrical and mechanical measuring equipment.
    • Excellent knowledge of PCB and soldering standards.
    • Excellent interpersonal skills, with an ability to motivate, influence and mediate between employees of various skill levels.
    • Demonstrated experience in identifying and resolving problems using various industry-standard techniques.
    • Excellent computer skills (Microsoft Office products, relational databases, and ERP systems – Microsoft NAV).
    • Ability to adapt to changing demands of production from customers and team members.
    • Ability to organize priorities based on deadlines and the importance of tasks and manage time efficiently.
    • Excellent planning, problem-solving, judgement and decision-making ability.
    • Strong analytical and detail-orientated skills.
    • Responsible and takes ownership when resolving issues.
    • Good communication skills (both written and verbal).
    • A self-starter demonstrating flexibility is a must.

    Duties and Responsibilities:

    • Performs receiving, in-process and final inspection.
    • Performs random quality checks on all manufacturing processes.
    • Documents inspection results by completing reports and inputting data into a quality database.
    • Prepare and coordinate non-conforming product returns.
    • Participates in the design, development and implementation of policies, systems, procedures and practices to ensure that quality, configuration, documentation and reliability requirements are established and followed.
    • Develops Quality Assurance and Control documentation including standards, processes and assembly.
    • Creates inspection standards, reviews data, and makes necessary changes.
    • Creates production process documents (in concert with engineering and production), defines product build routings and generates production assembly documents.
    • Provides training to new employees for processes, assembly, soldering and self-quality checking.
    • Assists in the implementation of standards, methods and procedures for inspecting, testing and evaluating company products for precision, accuracy and reliability.
    • Reviews, analyzes and develops rationale for recommendations to policy changes, as required.
    • Ensures a positive work environment and awareness by all staff of company goals and objectives.
    • Promotes awareness of and ensures ongoing operating compliance to all applicable employment, environmental, health and safety legislation by all personnel in assigned areas.
    • Evaluates assembly and soldering per published standards.

  • Embedded Systems Design Engineer

    Opportunity:

    This is an exciting opportunity for a highly dynamic, strategic and results-driven professional to join our Engineering team in the role of Embedded Systems Design Engineer.

    Duties:

    Some immediate tasks of this permanent position involve:

    • Design, prototyping and testing of digital and analog circuitry for implementation in low-power microprocessor-controlled peripherals like RF or acoustic transmitters and miscellaneous dataloggers;
    • Planning, development and implementation of sensor-equipped low-power acoustic and radio transmitters for underwater and avian applications;
    • Analysis of circuit designs with the use of calculations, simulations and modeling techniques;
    • Definition and implementation of test strategies to ensure compliance of the design to the specification;
    • Responsibility for accurate and complete documentation including block diagrams, schematics, bills of materials and engineering design reports;
    • Close collaboration with Manufacturing to ensure timely transition of designs into products;
    • Define and implement best practices for product assembly and testing by in-house production team or third-party contractor
    • Research new technologies and test new sensors, batteries, chips, etc. for future product development
    • Project management.

    An ideal candidate should have the following qualifications:

    • MSEE or BSEE and minimum 5 years of relevant experience;
    • Experience in planning, analysis, specification design, design implementation, debugging and documentation of low-power digital electronic circuits;
    • Experience and interest in working with various low power microprocessors and microcontrollers including ARM and MSP 430;
    • Good knowledge of low power designs composed of various sensors, battery chargers, buck/boost regulators, MCU and peripherals, communication busses, etc.
    • Demonstrated experience in low level embedded C programming and debugging, interfacing with sensors, communication busses, etc.
    • Proficient in designing compact PCB layouts, using electrical CAD tools (e.g. ORCAD and Altium);
    • Working knowledge of analog signal processing techniques and their applications to biomedical and environmental sensors;
    • Good project management skills – planning of the sequence of operations, budgeting, selection of methods and resources, experience in interfacing with subcontractors;
    • Knowledge of EMI and EMC
    • Familiarity with variety of test and metrology instruments;
    • Good time and task management skills (multitasking);
    • Good written and oral communication skills;
    • Familiarity with design control aspects of quality assurance;
    • Familiarity with software simulation tools such as PSPICE, MATHCAD, MATLAB;

    The Opportunity:

    We are seeking a highly motivated Customer Service Representative (CSR) to join our team in Wareham, UK.  This role is specifically for the Avian Segment which serves researchers wanting to track the movements of birds, bats and insects.

    Customer Service Representatives contribute to the quality of the customer experience, through the personalised service they provide. CSRs provide technical support and training for customers, facilitate equipment returns for repairs/calibration, provide sales support and provide feedback to Segment and Product Management. Together, the CSRs and our Telemetry Specialists are key to true client loyalty.

    Requirements:

    • Proven ability to gain co-workers and customer respect to facilitate positive outcomes.
    • Excellent communication skills (both written and verbal).
    • Good time-management when multi-tasking.
    • Energetic personality, takes initiative, works independently in a multi-tasking, fast paced environment.
    • Good knowledge of working within a Microsoft Windows Environment (Win 10/11) and Microsoft Office suite (including Outlook, Word, Excel, etc.)
