Opportunity:

Lotek is currently looking for a Mechanical Assembly and Encapsulation Technician for our Production Department. We seek a highly motivated individual capable of working in a team environment. This is a contract position for a period of 1 year.

Skills/Duties:

• Ability to do mechanical assembly and basic soldering with brief instruction and minimum supervision.
• Experience in operating machines, use of mechanical/electrical tools and familiarity with epoxies are a definite asset.
• Knowledge of handling epoxies such as mixing, curing, applying, storing and its basic mechanical and chemical behaviors.
• Comfortable with applying epoxy on small parts precisely and UV curing it under microscope.
• Experienced using different materials such as epoxy and gasket to seal products from water penetration through external coating, potting it in tube or in mould.
• Prepares estimates for service quotes.
• May supervise others including training, scheduling, and taking responsibility for the quality and accuracy of their work.
• Works with and supports other departments on projects such as trouble shooting, and repairing on defect products.
• Able to communicate clearly.
• Completes special projects and duties assigned by supervisor.
• Must work well with others, have a positive attitude, and have excellent vision and good hand eye coordination.
• Work well under deadlines and pressures.
• Comfortable sitting and working with hands for long periods of time.
• Ability to use safely use equipment and tools.

The Opportunity:

Lotek’s Sales and Marketing Department in Newmarket, Ontario has a really cool opportunity for the right person. We are seeking a highly motivated Account Manager for the Wildlife Segment. This position includes some North American travel for approximately 8 weeks per year.

Requirements:

As a minimum, the successful candidate must have a University degree in Business (MBA preferred), Biology, Environmental Science or Engineering. A minimum of four years sales experience (technical preferred) is required with a demonstrated successful track record.
The candidate must be a ‘hunter’, a problem solver, detail oriented and critical thinker with excellent verbal and written communication skills. An interest in and an awareness of ecological issues is an asset. You see feedback or failure as motivation to learn and to grow.

Duties:

Working within the Marketing group, the successful candidate will consult with scientists from business, government and academia to provide custom solutions involving radio and satellite tracking systems. This position will also liaise extensively with production and product management to ensure customers’ expectations of product delivery and product features are met.

The Opportunity:

We are seeking a highly motivated Customer Service Representative to join our team in Newmarket.  This role is specifically for the Avian Segment which serves researchers wanting to track the movements of birds, bats and insects.

Customer Service Representatives (CSR) contribute to the quality of the customer experience through the personalized service they provide. CSRs provide technical support and training for customers, facilitate equipment returns for repairs/calibration, provide sales support and provide feedback to Segment and Product Management. Together, the CSRs and Sales Account Managers are the key client relation contacts critical to the development of true client loyalty. CSRs report to Segment Managers.

Requirements:

• Proven ability to gain co-workers and customer respect to facilitate positive outcomes
• Excellent communication skills (both written and verbal).
• Good time-management when multi-tasking and able to handle the high volume of enquiries.
• Energetic personality, takes initiative, works independently in a multi-tasking, fast paced environment.
• Good knowledge of software (Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, familiarity with Navision an asset).
• Ability to maintain a positive attitude when required to escalate client concerns and manage client expectations
• Ability to adapt to a changing environment

Advantageous:

• University degree or college diploma preferred;

Duties:

• Build a thorough knowledge of using Lotek equipment
• Provide training for researchers new to our equipment
• Resolve equipment issues researchers experience
• Key liaison between the client and the organization (Sales, Production, Engineering);
• Respond to all client requests and new enquiries (telephone and email) within a 24-hour period;
• Assist Sales Account Managers with active participation in all order entry and follow up;
• Document, investigate and get closure on all client issues or complaints;
• Coordinate work schedules with other CSRs and Account Managers
• Complete all office related administration tasks such as forecasting, quoting, order entry, filing of communications, reporting, mailing, timesheets, expense reports etc. in a timely manner;
• Adhere to all Health and Safety Regulations;
• Ensure Quality Standards are maintained;
• Provide client feedback to the Segment and Product Managers;
• Adhere to and participate with all policies of the organization;
