Integrated Argos linked FastGPS for payload recovery

FastGPS is fast acquisition GPS technology designed for marine animals that only surface briefly. Unique FastGPS technology enables a snapshot of GPS signals to be taken in a fraction of a second compared to conventional GPS that can take tens of seconds. Raw locations are then relayed back to the researcher via the Argos satellite system.

Argos messages are automatically retrieved by a secure web server and stored in a secure cloud database. The FastGPS raw data is automatically post-processed and can be viewed and downloaded via the secure web service.

  • Product Features

    Integrated FastGPS and Argos system that does not experience conflicts between the two technologies. Electronics encapsulated directly in low density syntactic foam so as to minimize weight and size.

  • Product Application Examples

    For short term monitoring of various species, predominantly cetaceans, in which the F6G 134 (and optionally the V7G 149) are physically integrated with/attached to a user payload (DTAG, Acousonde, etc.).
