ArgosPoint tags provide Argos Doppler locations, suitable for long distance movements, and especially useful if you are not sure where your individuals are going, or if they will return. Choose the best way to expose the solar panels to sunlight, with flat domes, crested domes or feather grooves.
Most suitable for studying long-distance migration at a lower price point when GPS accuracy is not required. The ArgosPoint uses Doppler theory to resolve locations with the best accuracy being around 250 metres. As a solar tag, the study species should spend time in open habitat to recharge the cell. Our Telemetry Specialists can advise on how long per day the tag can transmit according to season and geographic location.
