Lotek: The Origin of our Name

Over the years, the name Lotek has come to be synonymous with quality and innovation in the field of fish and wildlife tracking.

Though some take it as an ironic reference to the actual "high-tech" nature of our tracking solutions, in fact, the name "Lotek" originates as an abbreviation of "Lotimer Technologies", a reference to company founder Jim Lotimer, who started Lotek Engineering Inc. in 1984.

Which is not to say we haven't had some fun with the name ourselves.
