Newmarket, Ontario, CANADA (November 30th, 2011) – Lotek Wireless, Inc. announced today that it has purchased Sirtrack Ltd., a Havelock North, New Zealand based provider of bird, marine and wildlife telemetry products.  This new partnership offers researchers a broader array of products and services to assist in animal monitoring around the world.

Sirtrack specializes in the design, manufacture and export of wildlife tracking systems using state of the art transmitter and satellite technologies.  They have deployed products on over 550 species in more than 70 countries.  Lotek Wireless provides telemetry tools to bird, fish and wildlife researchers on every continent and in every ocean.  Both companies have many years of experience in their respective biotelemetry markets. Clients now have improved global access to the combined Sirtrack and Lotek product lines employing radio, acoustic, archival and satellite technologies.

In addition to leading edge equipment, both companies assist clients with system selection, equipment training and data analysis. “This alliance allows us to expand our markets and continue with our passion for the environment,” said Jim Lotimer, President and CEO of Lotek Wireless.
