Our combined acoustic and radio transmitting (CS) tag is an invaluable tool for tracking species that move between salt and fresh water or between shallow and deep fresh water environments. Through advanced programming, CS tags can be tailored to the optimal mode of transmission, be it radio or acoustic.

Coded acoustic signals are detected using a wired hydrophone linked to an SRX-series receiver/datalogger. A wired hydrophone allows active tracking or datalogging when connected to an SRX-series receiver with a sonic up-converter. Notes on specifications

1. Acoustic frequency 65.5 or 76.8 kHz. Radio frequency 140-175 MHz.
2. All dimensions are for internal implantation.
3. External attachment option available which slightly increases transmitter length and weight.
4. Size/weight specification tolerance typically +/- 2%, but periodic design modifications to individual models may result in greater deviation from specified. It is recommended that specifications be confirmed when placing an order.
5. Warranty life is defined as 80% of the calculated life. Calculations are based on the battery manufacturer’s specifications and tests performed at our factory. For CS tags, the code burst interval is defined as the time between any consecutive code burst. The maximum warranty life is three (3) years.
6. All tags are guaranteed to meet stated specifications upon shipment. Any Lotek tags found to be defective, with respect to material or workmanship, will be repaired or replaced.
